On May 21st, from 2 PM to 4 PM, the first-year CTeSP (Professional Higher Technical Course) in SME Management at ISPGAYA conducted a study visit to the Vila Nova de Gaia Courthouse as part of their Business Law course, following authorization granted to the course instructor by the Coordinating Judge of the Porto District Court.
The study visit served as a pedagogical tool for students to understand both the judicial context and the judiciary in general, as well as many of the topics covered in the course. It allowed for better assimilation of classroom learning, specifically providing an understanding of how to behave in a courtroom. Students visited the Bar Association's office, a court clerk's office, and prison cells, and finally, witnessed a conciliation attempt and the analysis of a Preliminary Ruling in labor law, identifying all the elements that comprise the legal relationship. Therefore, the study visit was a source of encouragement and motivation for the students, encouraging them to increase their practical knowledge in relation to the theory taught in the classroom.
