Merit and Recognition Ceremony celebrated academic excellence in the presence of students, family members, and faculty

On December 7th, ISPGAYA held the Merit and Recognition Ceremony for the academic year 2022/23, attended by approximately 160 people, including students, family members, faculty, non-teaching staff, representatives from partner institutions, and other guests. The atmosphere was filled with genuine pride and emotion as attendees witnessed the acknowledgment of academic excellence and the recognition of effort and dedication.

The ceremony began with a musical performance by the String Trio composed of Carolina Costa (cello), Pedro Rebelo, and João Sá (violins), offering a beautiful rendition of the University Hymn "Gaudeamus Igitur." ISPGAYA President, Professor Dr. Lino Tavares Dias, formally opened the session, emphasizing the "Importance of Academic Merit and Recognition for Outstanding Students and Professionals" in a thoughtful speech on higher education, trajectory, growth, and the paths to be charted for the future.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of well-deserved recognitions to approximately 50 individuals, including students and faculty. These recognitions were handed out by ISPGAYA President, Professor Dr. Lino Tavares Dias, Professor Dr. José Castro Oliveira, Director of the School of Business Sciences, and Professor Dr. Sérgio Sargo, Director of the School of Science and Technology.

As a gesture of cordiality and friendship, all awardees in categories such as Professional Merit/Teaching Seniority Diplomas, Scientific Recognition/Research, Merit Certificates/Best ISPGAYA Students 22/23, Merit Certificates/Graduated Students 22/23, and Diplomas/Degree Certificates for Graduates received a yellow rose with the message "Warm Embrace from the ISPGAYA Academic Community" from the Secretary-General of ISPGAYA, Ms. Maria José Ramos.

Following the musical performance that concluded the Merit and Recognition Ceremony, a Porto de Honra was served to the attendees, marking the end of the event with a moment of socializing, camaraderie, and closeness.
