Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

On Saturday, 17 October 2026, the inaugural session of the Final Year Project course unit, in the form of a Business Simulation Project, took place as part of the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Although teaching activities were already underway, this session formally marked the launch of the project, developed under the agreement established with the Portuguese Order of Certified Accountants (Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados – OCC), strengthening the link between academic education and professional practice.

The session was attended by lecturers Marisa Gregório Lumini and Filipa Joana Silva, Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, as well as Carlos Jorge Oliveira, the project’s external mentor and a full member of the OCC.

One of the highlights was the presentation of the book Financial Accounting (Contabilidade Financeira) to the third-year students. This reference work was coordinated by Paula Franco, Chairwoman of the Portuguese Order of Certified Accountants, and features contributions from more than twenty authors.

This initiative represents another step towards promoting education that is closely aligned with professional practice, providing students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired throughout their degree in a business simulation environment, with both academic and professional guidance.
