35th Anniversary of ISPGAYA
On October 18, 1990, Ordinance No. 1061 was published, recognizing and formalizing the creation of two schools that comprised ISPGAYA, then known as the "Polytechnic Institute of Gaia." The schools, named the Higher School of Social and Community Development and the Higher School of Science and Technology, offered three and four higher education courses, respectively, and were authorized to operate from the 1990/1991 academic year.
Cultural Laboratory Open to the Community
The Cultural Laboratory of ISPGAYA – Instituto Superior Politécnico Gaya, located in Vila Nova de Gaia, operates the Reading Club - Lês a Lés directed by Dr. Dália Dias and the EnCena Theater Group directed by actress Mariana Santos.
Gaia National Youth Capital
The President of ISPGAYA, Professor Jorge Simões, was present at the awarding of the distinction to Gaia as “National Youth Capital”, which took place on January 20th, at the Municipal Auditorium of Gaia.
