International Students
Students who do not have Portuguese nationality.
Who Can Apply
Are considered International Students the applicants who:
Do not hold Portuguese nationality;
Do not hold the nationality of another Member State of the European Union;
Are not direct family members of Portuguese citizens or of citizens of another Member State of the European Union, regardless of their own nationality;
Do not hold a residence visa as family members of citizens of any Member State of the European Union;
Are not holders of the status of equal rights;
Have not been legally residing in Portugal for more than two uninterrupted years, as of 1 January of the year in which they intend to enter higher education.
Access Conditions
Candidates holding a Portuguese high school diploma or legally equivalent qualification, issued by a competent authority attesting to their completion of a high school course, with the subjects taken itemized, including the grading scale and the final high school average, and who have a current level of knowledge of the Portuguese language, may apply for the Higher Professional Technical Courses.
Candidates holding qualifications in the same field of study as the course they intend to pursue are admitted directly based on their diploma grades, except in cases where the qualifications do not fall within the relevant areas defined for the CTeSP (Higher Professional Technical Course), in which case candidates must take a Specific Entrance Examination.
Knowledge of the Portuguese Language
ISPGAYA holds an interview session, where the applicant, in addition to demonstrating their knowledge orally, can produce documentary support regarding their training in Portuguese.

Ranking Criteria
The application grade results from the application of the following formula:
NC = 0.35% * CES + 0.65% * PIE
CES – Grade of the secondary education course or legally equivalent qualification;
PIE – Grade of the specific entrance exam.
